Newsflash! May Bea Sunshine found Dead!

Award-winning journalist and gossip columnist to the stars, Ms Maybelle Beatrice Sunshine, was found dead in her Toorak apartment this morning at 11:15am by work colleague and long-time protégé Evelyn Greene.

“She had not turned up for work on Monday or Tuesday at her usual punctual time,” Ms Greene told reporters, “By the time 10am had come and gone on Wednesday I knew something was amiss, so I stopped by her home…just to make sure…”

The grisly scene that awaited Ms Greene when she and Ms Sunshine’s landlord broke into the stylish but modest apartment was one that Evelyn will not soon forget.

“Everything was destroyed…everything had been thrown about, as if a child had been having a tantrum…and May Bea…well…”

Police and coroners reports have yet to be released, but insiders claim that Ms Sunshine suffered severe shock after a blow to the head. “There was evidence of strangulation and…you know, foul play of the sexual sort…there was a lot of broken glass covered in blood. It was horrific,” one onlooker confided.

Ms Sunshine, age 43, was well regarded for her humane works in Guatemala and more recently for her ground-breaking news columns on Australia’s very own brat-pack royals, the Black Family. Blacklight has confirmed that at the time of her death Ms Sunshine had been working on an ‘expose’ that she claimed would ‘bury the Black Family once and for all.’

‘It was due to be printed next week,’ Ms Greene told reporters, “I guess that’s one story that will have to wait.”

The Black Family Inc. declined to comment further than to offer their ‘sincerest condolences to May’s family and the general media for the loss of an astute and obviously obsessively hard-working treasure of Australian journalism.’

Funeral services will be held in the coming days, with details to be announced.
